About Shortfundly
Welcome to Shortfundly. Shortfundly makes it easy to discover, submit to, and get tickets for film festivals, screenplay contests, and related creative events worldwide. We provide these experiences through our websites and domains, services available on or through our websites (including mobile apps), and related software (collectively, the “Services”).
Our Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how SM Smartygen Media Networks Pvt Ltd (“Shortfundly”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, transfers, and stores information, including personally identifiable information (“Personal Data”), from users and visitors of the Services (“you” or “your”). Users include (i) registered Festivals (film festivals, events, and contests), (ii) Filmmakers and Screenwriters who submit to or purchase from events, and (iii) other non-festival users and visitors.
Except as otherwise noted, Shortfundly is the data controller (under GDPR) for Personal Data we collect via the Services. We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Please review it periodically.

Consent
By using the Services (or authorizing someone to use the Services on your behalf), you consent to the collection, use, disclosure, transfer, and storage of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
1) Personal Data
We collect Personal Data that you voluntarily provide, for example when you create an account, submit to an event, purchase tickets, or contact support.
- Festivals: name, email, phone, address, festival profile details; payment/settlement information (e.g., bank details) and tax information as required.
- Filmmakers / Screenwriters / Non-Festivals: name, email, phone, address, postal code, country, submission details (e.g., project title, runtime, credits, links, files), ticketing details, and preferences.
- Payment Data: payments are processed by third-party processors (e.g., Razorpay, PayPal, card networks). We receive limited details necessary to confirm the transaction (e.g., status, last 4 digits, payment method type).
Sensitive Personal Data: We do not intentionally collect sensitive data (e.g., health, religion, union membership) in the ordinary course. If processing is required, we will rely on a lawful basis (e.g., legal obligation, fraud prevention, establishment/defense of legal claims, or explicit consent).
We place a link to this Privacy Policy in our site footer and reference it in our applications wherever Personal Data is collected.
2) Non-Personal Data
We also collect non-identifiable information (“Non-Personal Data”) such as IP address, device/browser characteristics, ISP/domain, approximate geolocation, usage logs and timestamps, and aggregated analytics that cannot identify you.
We may combine Non-Personal Data from third parties with information we collect and treat it as Non-Personal Data where it does not identify an individual.
3) Cookies, Pixels, Local Storage & Similar Technologies

How We Use Information
- Provide the Services: account registration, submissions, ticketing, payments.
- Support & Security: fraud prevention, abuse detection, customer care.
- Improve & Personalize: product development, analytics, A/B tests, preferences.
- Communications: transactional emails (receipts, confirmations, updates), festival communications to their submitters/attendees, and (where permitted) Shortfundly marketing about features and events. You can manage marketing preferences as described below.
- Legal: enforce terms, comply with law, protect rights, and resolve disputes.
Disclosure of Information
- Festivals: When you submit to or purchase from a Festival, we share necessary data with that Festival. Festivals have their own privacy practices—review their policies before submitting.
- Processors & Service Providers: payment processing, cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, fraud prevention, and similar services under contract.
- Affiliates & Corporate Transactions: we may share with subsidiaries/ affiliates; in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may transfer in accordance with this Policy.
- Legal & Safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights, prevent fraud, or ensure safety.
- Non-Personal Data: may be shared for any lawful purpose since it cannot identify you.
We do not sell Personal Data.
Your Choices
- Limit Data: You may use parts of the Services without providing certain data, but features (e.g., submissions, ticketing) may require it.
- Marketing Opt-Out: You can unsubscribe from Shortfundly marketing emails using in-email links or by contacting support@shortfundly.com. Transactional emails will still be sent.
- Festival Emails: Festivals may email their submitters/attendees via our tools. You can opt out from those festival messages via links in the email or by contacting the Festival directly.
- Do Not Track: We currently do not respond to DNT signals.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us so we can delete it.
Links to Other Websites
Our Services may contain links to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.
Storage & Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Personal Data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Email communications may be unencrypted—please use caution when sharing information.
International Transfers
We may process and store data in India and other countries. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers (e.g., contractual clauses).
EU/UK Residents (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know/access categories and specific pieces of Personal Data we collect, delete certain data, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell Personal Data.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
Access, Retention & Deletion
You can review or update certain account information by signing in. You may also contact us regarding data not accessible via your account. We retain Personal Data as needed to provide the Services and as permitted by law (e.g., tax, fraud prevention, dispute resolution). Backups may persist for a limited time after deletion.
